Yesterday afternoon ten of us got together at Original Joe’s for a big boozy Easter brunch.
It was wonderful.
Original Joe’s used to be San Francisco staple, but a few years ago there was a terrible fire and it burnt down.
Lucky for us, they recently reopened, and their new location is just a few blocks away from our apartment.
We ate and drank and laughed and talked and ate and drank some more.
Like I said before, I am not particularly religious, but I love Easter because it gives me the opportunity to spend time with some of my favorite people. Kevin and I are so lucky to have developed such a great community of friends in San Francisco. My urban family is just as important to me as my “real” family.
After brunch, half the group came back to our apartment where we drank too much Pimm’s cup and played an array of games, and somehow, impossibly, and to my complete bewilderment, I didn’t win any of them!
I can’t prove it, but I suspect there was cheating going on as me losing continually is not really feasible to me.
Despite this, it was an absolutely wonderful Easter.
Unfortunately, having an awesome Sunday Fun Day usually leads to a less than stellar Monday morning.
It’s quite slow going.
But totally worth it.
