Yesterday the Golden Gate Bridge turned 75 years old. The city celebrated all day, culminating in a fantastic firework show over the bridge. It was spectacular.
One of the key things I have been trying to do as part of my so called passion pursuit is to be more cognizant of the joyous experiences in my life. After all, all most people really want in life is to be happy, so I think that happiness plays a pretty big part in me finding my passion.
There are moments in my life where I am so happy that I could burst. Moments where I can’t believe how lucky I am to have this life. Last night, sitting with friends on a roof deck overlooking the city I love, watching the fireworks over the golden gate bridge, was one of those moments.
The fireworks were better than I remember San Francisco fireworks being. The show began with fireworks flowing down from the bridge, making it look like a waterfall (pictured above) and it took my breath away. A few minutes into the show I looked around at Kevin and my other friends sitting on the roof and thought to myself “this is a good life I’m living.” I felt so lucky to be living here, to be carving my future in this city by the bay.
Happy 75th Birthday, Golden Gate! You are loved.
