As I mentioned last week, on Friday night I attended Le Dîner à San Francisco 2012, an elegant all white popup dinner.
I was excited but I really didn’t know what to expect.
At 3 p.m. on Friday we received an email with the location.
It was the Marina Green, a beautiful grassy knoll that that has the Golden Gate Bridge as a backdrop.
On a clear day, the view is to die for.
Alas, it was not a clear day. It was foggy foggy foggy and the bridge could hardly be seen.
Living in the bay this is to be expected, so no one really cared.
Kevin and I had a hell of a time getting a taxi that night, so by the time we pulled up, the dinner was about to start and it was already getting dark.
But it didn’t matter, because I arrived to the most amazing set-up ever.
My friend Shannon made the most stunning kick-ass centerpiece I have ever seen.
Seriously. SHE MADE THAT!
People went all out for this event, and looking around at the inspiration and gorgeousness was just unreal.
Unfortunately, I was a very bad blogger and only took a handful of photos, most of which do not even come close to capturing just how beautiful the event was.
So instead I’m going to “borrow” from the Le Dîner à San Francisco facebook fan page page and share some of the wonderful photos that other attendees posted online.
The only downside to the event was that it was rather cold and windy. Monday through Thursday had been beyond beautiful, with temperatures in the 80s, and then suddenly Friday rolled around the fog rolled in and the temperature dropped dramatically.
It was a bit of a bummer, but clearly it didn’t affect the overall awesomeness of the event.
To compensate, we just drank more wine!
(Saturday morning was not fun)
All in all, a very successful Le Dîner, if I do say so myself.
I’ll see you next year, Le Dîner à San Francisco 2013!
