Hi there. I’m Serena.
Thanks so much for stopping by my little spot on the world-wide-web.
Please make yourself at home.
I started this blog for no discernible reason other than the fact that I love reading other people’s blogs and I thought that having my own blog would make me feel cool and happy. So far, it does! I get to ramble about nothing and pretend that other people find me interesting.
Words like “totes” and “amazeballs” are not part of my vocabulary, but you will find that I’m often grammatically incorrect and I frequently start sentences with conjunctions like “so,” “and,” or “but.” I also have quite the affection for the CAPS LOCK KEY and exclamation points!
Among other things, I thought this blog could be a good way to document my quest to “find my passion” in life. My bliss. My zen. The things in life that will make my heart sing. I’m well aware of how cheesy this sounds, but I desperately want to feel like what I’m doing with my life has some sort of purpose and meaning. I want to be happier in my day-to-day and not just on the weekends. I refer to this endeavor as my Passion Pursuit.
And yet, despite being unsatisfied in some aspects of my life, I don’t consider myself an unhappy person. Having fun is one of my top priorities in life. Doing things that make me laugh with people I love is my favorite thing to do, and I do it often.

In one of my “find my bliss” exercises I was supposed to set the timer for five minutes and furiously list my skills and write down everything I was good at. After about 30 seconds, I was finished. I couldn’t think of anything else to write. This led me to the conclusion that I have no talents, which in turn made me depressed.
However, it did confirm that I am quite skilled when it comes to eating, drinking, and watching really terrible television. Score!
Now that you know all that, let’s get down to the basics.
I live in San Francisco. I firmly believe that it is the best city in the United States.
I’m married to this guy.

His name is Kevin.
We got married in October of 2011 in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
A few months later, our wedding was featured on Style Me Pretty,
which pretty much means we are famous.
I kid, I kid. But it did make me embarrassingly excited.
As cliché as this may be, it was, hands down, one of the best days of my life.

I used to think that people who were obsessed with weddings were kind of weird and crazy. In true hypocrite fashion, as soon as I started planning my own wedding I became one of them. Now I love weddings. I mean, what’s not to love? The romance! The flowers! The dancing! The inappropriate drunken encounters! If you want to talk weddings, I’m your girl.
The only thing I love in life more than my husband is traveling. Just kidding. I love my husband more (but it’s a close second). I get insanely envious when I hear about those people that drop everything and move to Paris or backpack through India for a year just because they’ve always wanted to.
I sincerely hope that one day I will be one of those people.

But for now, I live in San Francisco.

Life here isn’t so bad.
The end.
