Hi there. I’m Serena!
Thanks so much for stopping by my little spot on the world-wide-web.
Please make yourself at home.
I started this blog for no discernible reason other than the fact that I love reading other people’s blogs,
and I thought that having my own would make me feel cool and happy.
So far, it has!
I get to ramble about whatever my heart desires
and pretend that other people find me somewhat interesting.
Words like “totes” and “amazeballs” are not part of my vocabulary,
but you may notice that I’m often grammatically incorrect.
I frequently start sentences with conjunctions like “so,” “and,” or “but,”
and I have quite the affection for the CAPS LOCK KEY and exclamation points!
When I first started this blog,
I was hoping that it would be a good way
for me to document my quest to “find my passion” in life.
The things in life that would make my heart sing.
To help with this endeavor,
I read all sorts of career books and did a lot of “find my bliss” exercises.
In one of them, I was supposed to set the timer for five minutes
and furiously list my skills, writing down everything I was good at.
After about 30 seconds, I was finished.
I couldn’t think of anything else to write.
This led me to the conclusion that I have no talents,
which in turn made me feel depressed.
However, it did confirm that I am quite skilled
when it comes to eating, drinking, and watching really terrible television.
Now that you know all that,
let’s get down to the basics.
I live in San Francisco.
I firmly believe that it is the best city in the United States.
I consider myself a pretty happy person.
Doing things that make me laugh with people I love is my favorite thing to do,
and I do it often.
I’m married to this guy.
His name is Kevin.
We got married in October of 2011 in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
A few months later, our wedding was featured on Style Me Pretty,
which pretty much means we are famous.
I kid, I kid. But it did make me embarrassingly excited.
As cliché as this may be, it was, hands down, one of the best days of my life.
The only thing I love in life more than my husband is traveling. Just kidding. I love my husband more (but it’s a close second). We travel as much as our life (and budget) will allow. Our most recent adventure was the Camino de Santiago, a 1200-year-old pilgrimage across Northern Spain. Next to getting married, it was the best thing we’ve ever decided to do. You can read more about it here.
I love living in San Francisco, but I still get a little jealous when I hear about those people that drop everything and move to Paris or backpack through India for a year just because they’ve always wanted to.

I hope that someday I will be one of those people.
But for now, I live in San Francisco.
